🎶MuSeek – the platform that helps artists seek their "Dream Team"

Fall 2024 • Team Ideation & PMReady • Web & Social Platform

Jira Figma

Struggling to find a music producer, a background voice artist, a boom mic operator, or even a sound mixer who aligns with your vibe and musical style? That’s where MuSeek comes in.

It’s a concept-stage passion project focused on reshaping how independent musicians connect not just with audiences—but with each other.

MuSeek enables creators to upload raw demos, express their inspirations, and build momentum through community-driven tags and discovery paths.

Built on curiosity and passion at its core, it encourages music lovers to experience authenticity & future stars to find their 💫DREAM TEAM.

Problem Statement

Emerging and independent artists struggle to find affordable, growth-oriented, and lasting creative collaboration platforms due to the industry’s emphasis on high-cost services, one-off transactions, and lack of mentorship or educational support.

Features

• Weekly Top 10 Billboard
• Inspiration-first profile creation for musicians
• Simple 2-step upload flow for demos
• Discovery algorithm based on preference & rating
• Analytics dashboard for artists (plays, previews)
• Built-in messaging for collaboration opportunities

Competitive Analysis

Competitor Target Market Market Share Product Strengths Weaknesses
Fiverr Freelancers and businesses 0.7% Marketplace for freelance services Large user base, wide service range, trust features High commission, transactional focus, lacks community
Sonicbids Independent musicians seeking gigs 0.03% Connects artists to venues and bands Gig discovery, artist profiles Limited tools for solo artists, weak networking
SoundBetter Artists seeking premium production 0.09% Hire professionals for music projects High quality, Spotify-acquired, pro reputation Expensive, job-based, no learning tools

Taken together, most platforms focus on transactional gigs, established professionals, or venue access—but rarely blend affordability, mentorship, and collaborative network-building the way MuSeek aims to do.

My Approach as Product Manager

I approached MuSeek as an opportunity to lead as a Product Manager from end to end. I collaborated with fellow aspiring PMs to explore how independent musicians—especially students—struggle to find aligned collaborators.

I led our competitive analysis, designed the product’s OKRs, and helped frame user research into actionable insights. Using tools like Figma and Jira , I worked on user flows, early design mockups, and prioritized features based on feasibility, storytelling potential and effective timeline management. MuSeek taught me how to balance ambition with clarity and how to articulate an emotional journey through product.
